A Tiny Desk tutorial is a short TikTok showing how to put a new person into the Outstanding Tiny Desk performance, and the tutorial on Tiny Desk AI Trend is three steps: upload a photo, choose a set, press Create. There is no tool to learn and no prompt to copy. Open the generator.
What do the TikTok tutorials do?
From 24 October 2026, six days after the meme began, tutorials for "how to make Tiny Desk Concert Outstanding AI" started to appear. They drew roughly 100,000 to 450,000 plays each, and they mostly point to one of three routes:
- A CapCut template. The post carries a link to a template that fits your photos or clips into a ready-made edit. It is the route searched as "Outstanding Tiny Desk AI template".
- Kling AI. An AI video tool that creators use to generate the performance from an image and a written description.
- The Summrs app. A phone app that makes the clip for you, and which leaves a "made with summrs" watermark.
We do not teach those routes here. They are other people's products, their prices were not checked by us, and their steps change. We only explain what goes wrong.
Why do they break?
- Template links disappear. A shared template depends on a link that the creator or the app can remove or replace, so the tutorial's own link can be dead by the time you tap it.
- Watermarks. A free app output often carries the app's mark. Cropping it cuts the picture, and removing it is not something we recommend.
- Faces drift. A generic AI tool is not tuned for this video, so your face can change between the wide shot and the laugh close-up, which is the shot that matters most. More in why the prompt is built in.
- The original sound does not line up. The meme is the song, and the sax solo must land on time. A video made by hand usually needs the audio added and nudged afterward.
- Retries cost money. Paid AI tools charge per attempt, so trial and error adds up.
None of this means the tutorials are wrong. They are fine for people who enjoy tinkering. If you only want the video, a fixed tool saves the effort; see how the two routes compare.
The tutorial here: three steps
- Upload one clear photo. Front-facing, shoulders up, eyes visible. Yourself or an adult who agreed; no public figures.
- Choose a set and a format. Try Lead Singer or Losing Coach, then 9:16 for TikTok, 1:1 or 16:9.
- Press Create. The 15-second MP4 is ready in about four minutes, with the original sound already mixed in and no watermark.
Download it within a day, as files are deleted after that. Standard 720p costs 10 credits, credits never expire, and a failed render returns them. There is no free tier; pricing has the packs.
